Mike Foley - Alcohol didn’t make him do it - it only amplified it

by Arno on October 8, 2006

For years I’ve been listening to how the republicans are the part of moral values. I guess I’m not entirely aware of what exactly moral values are at this point because lying, stealing, killing, and now sexual harrassment belong to the repertoire of this party.

Now we have South Floria congressman Mike Foley who is accused of making more than inappropriate contact to a page in congress.

So immediately he comes out and says the alcohol made him do it and that he was now in rehab to combat his addiction. Fact of the matter is this. The guy is gay, and alcohol or not - he obviously had tendencies to mingle with young teenage males and prominent republicans did everything they could to cover it up. Why? It’s quite simple. We’re obviously not talking about what’s right for the people here. We’re talking about political careers here that can’t be jeopardized so that’s of course why this was covered up. Dennis Hasters, the speaker of the house knew about this months ago and admitted this. The bottom line here is the fact that Foley is gay, which I couldn’t care less about. I think everyone should be able to pursue the lifestyle they choose. How you can be republican and gay I have no idea but I guess I still have a lot to learn in this life to fully understand how you can preach moral values and then go hit on underage boys.
