In the year 1980 it surely didn’t make that much of a difference if you couldn’t use a computer, considering many of them at the time were as big as apartments. In the year 2008 however where just about every piece of technology you touch in a day somehow interfaces with a computer, it is completely inexcusable not to be able to use a PC or MAC for that matter.
