I have a 1990 chevy caprice that will not start, any suggestions?

Started up two days ago and ran fine. Went to start it today and it won't start. Sounds like it wants to start. So i sprayed starter fluid in carburator. Still didnt start. Took distributor apart and checked that out. Look ok but not sure. Any tests that i can do or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You gotta get to the basics... fuel, fire and air. Pull a spark plug, see if it is wet, dry, then ground it while turning it over to see if you have spark. All that's left is fuel and air. You more or less did that with starter fluid... if it didn't hiccup with starter fluid and you have spark suspect timing belt.
