I have come to the realization that nothing I do on this blog will bring any additional people to the polls. Instead of preaching to the choir, it’s time to take actions into our own hands. There is still time for people to register and there is certainly plenty of time to call every person you know and ask them whether they’re registered to vote and are going to actually do it.
You would be surprised how many of your friends have the “what’s the difference” syndrome and where I definitely share a part of that feeling, I will not be able to live with myself if I haven’t done my part to try to make a difference in this election.
Half of the success of the Republicans relies on the fact that so many people don’t go to the polls. Our voter turn out has been low for generations and we need to take action in order to change this. Especially if you are a resident of Florida, you should go to the polls. We lost the last election due to scam and other anomalies and we can’t have the same thing happen again in November.
So, do what I’ve already begun doing, make a list of all your friends and start calling them. Offer to take to them to the polls, whatever it takes. If you don’t participate now, I feel that our chances to have any kind of effect on the political process will be gone after another Republican victory.
