Ass Backwards

Welcome to another episode of me getting all worked up about something. I’m hoping by now it serves as some type of entertainment, I’m seeing this as my anger management class. So again here we are, in the “Land of the Free” and I’m going to point out another piece of legislation that’s in place in South Florida.

I guess just in time for me having moved down here, they remove the right of anyone to sell ‘tobacco pipes’. At first I thought ehhh whatever there will be way to get to the merchandise needed, there’s always a way. Few years into the game now I have to say: I was completely wrong.

What strikes me is the fact that I would say a much greater percentage of the population in South Florida engages in some type of drug usage - whether it’s hard or soft drugs. Whether it’s the well-off lawyer, regular Joe coming home from a day on the construction site, or you’re child’s elementary school teacher - they’re all getting high. Of course nobody admits to it, because oh the same that would follow. What has become of this country where everyone is so scared of what other people think of them, or what type of ramification their choice of drugs would have on their job situation. Needless to say certain jobs require the individual to be clean at all times, however just as many jobs don’t require this.

So we’ve established the fact that lots of people smoke down here, and I’m almost certain a lot of the police men do. When I see the police officers drive around South Beach I’m rarely thinking of individuals who keep a clean slate in terms of their intoxication records. Either way, I find it so ineffective to think that banning the tools for smoking will keep the drugs out. Fact of the matter is as long as someone can light the herb, somebody can inhale the fumes. So in the end it’s a rather futile missino to try to take away the utensils that are needed to enjoy the drug. Imagine they wanted to keep Alcoholics from drinking beer. Would they take away their mugs? Oh No!! the inhumanity. Anyway, I think I got my point across. The law sucks, it has to go and everyone knows it. But wait - it sells good as a campaign slogan “were tough on drugs (err we mean plastic that people use to consume drugs)” yeah that’s the person I want to run a high level office.

Anyway, had to get that out there real quick before the desire to even talk about it with someone ceases.

Well, sir, here’s a lil more salt on the situation… get this: Florida has the most severe laws against people who are caught with Ms. Mary Jane. Floridians who have been adjudicated as marijuana possessors are placed in a class of ‘untouchables’. These people are denied employment and civil rights- in many cases. The severity can be as low as losing driver’s licenses to be denied educational aid or an occupational license, to being denied adoption rights. Murderers can drive! Ya smoke pot- forget about that right for at least 1 year. Forget about finding a decent job, even if you have a master’s degree from Princeton- well, I suppose it all depends on who daddy is. The time served for these ‘potheads’ and their mental care providers can be up to 20 years! WTF???? Tis nuts, I tell ya! Pedifiles don’t get that… It disgusts me.

Thanks for your reply. Don’t even get me started on legislation for crimes - how Companies like Enron can rip off hundreds of thousands of people and as far as I’m concerned get away with it whereas if I rob a bank and get caught I’m pretty sure I’ll get a guaranteed life sentence, please don’t get me started ;)

So when are we starting our own TV News show :)
Real News!!!!
instead of the typical “lets keep you scared, so you feel you need more security”
even though our crime rate has fallen over the last 7 years, and once you de-crimilize Cannibus, that number will drop 10 fold.

Well I guess Land of the Free has a heavy price.
I wish it just had one huge price tag, instead of just hitting us with fines, penalties, and endless amounts of taxes, so they can buy their expensive weapons( that are in turn used to create “real” enemies and import more drugs.
Its not cheap to be the big bully..

Peace!!!!

NOT a bad idea…our own news channel - problem is who’s going to watch it - what if it all turns out to be like wikipedia - relying on the know-how of others and have potentially erronuous content all over the place. I just want the news back. Can’t somebody re-initiate that whole concept. I mean look at it this way - in the 70s or whenever they decided to change news to what it is today, someone decided that they could make more money using sensationalized news. Now after over 25 years of that, I’d say there is a whole market of people that want to actually SEE THE NEWS…not some numbnut talking from his ass…a journalist..a guy/gal that went to school for it and only has one mission: to break the story. I just think there’s a market for it again and someone with a lot of money should realize that..hehehehee
