It’s of course nothing new that FOX news is a complete trash channel. If you’re watching it and seriously call it journalism you do have some homework to catch up on. I’ve always wondered why they even got any ratings at all, with their sleazy style of reporting, their unprofessional comments and best of all of course the tagline that Fox News is fair and balanced. “We report - you decide” - leaving out the fact that the decision is of course based on a report and which is supposed to deliver viewers facts which upon they can base their decision on.
Unfortunately everyone in the Fox News network thinks they are some type of authority. Where I come from (Germany) there actually exists the institution of free journalism. Every week you can watch a documentary made by journalists who truly report, they truly find the facts and ask the questions nobody wants to ask. Whether you’re a politician or large corporation - nobody is safe from accountability.
In the US however, the media landscape is marked by news anchors that are supposed to deliver the “news” in a more attractive fashion. Making it more attractive apparently involved the colloquial conversations between anchors, seeming loose and and joyful to talk to each other. I personally would much rather just have news anchors that read the news and shut their uneducated mouth. If I look at the people over at FOX news that are considered their main faces, like Shephard Smith or the folks from their morning show - I nearly always feel offended just by their opening up their mouths.
I’ve also looked up some of the careers at the Fox news network and I think it’s safe to say that the people they employ have to be either failed conservatives or crooks. Oliver North who as deeply involved in the Iran contra affair even gets his own TV show - imagine that. I obviously have the wrong connections in life. Sean Hannity is just a radio talk show host who was too conservative for many stations early in his career and he got lucky when Fox was hiring - the perfect candidate - propagandistic and ultra conservative.
The reason I’m really writing this is the fact that Fox News is going down. This makes me very happy. The fact that Fox News chose to become the mouth piece of the republican party will now be their down fall. The fact that Hannity even opened up for Rudi Guilani’s political events shows how much these “journalists” are in bed with our government.
I could go on and on about the fact that Fox News is a disgrace to the media landscape, but I’m of course not the first one to say this so I’m just going to end this post here.
