Oh, you’re thinking that’s an old item aren’t you? I’m actually not referring to that great moment of US history where some people thought, that the only way to show France and Germany how unhappy we are with their decision not to join us in the War for Iraq’s Oil, is to boycott them. I tend to have a different point of view on this mainly because in the global society that we live in, it’s quite difficult to boycott a whole country.
This isn’t why I’m writing this. The real reason for my post is the lack of news in the US. I watch and read a lot of news and quite frankly I missed the coverage that there were riots in France again. What’s even more is that these riots have been going on for a few days already. This morning I went to cnn.com and looked on the main page to see if there was an article about it - nothing. So I clicked on “World” and based upon my latest research France isa part of the World so I went under the assumption that there might be something about - nothing. When I go to google and type in “riots france” one of the first few results is actually a wikipedia entry from 2005 - now that’s hillarious almost. History is newer than news in this case I guess. I always thought it was odd how the US kept its country sheltered from the rest of the world in terms of the flow of information. We don’t even report on riots of oneo of the members of the G8 - that’s pretty astonishing.
