McCain Running For A Party That Wanted To Destroy Him

I don’t know how these people live with themselves. In McCain’s case I’m assuming he’s endured more pain and humiliation when he was in captivity during the Vietnam War that nothing that happens in the political landscape phases him much. However, no matter how numb you are to attacks, wouldn’t you think that that you can distinguish between friend and foe? Karl Rove personally saw to it that McCain was railed during the 2000 primaries. They smeared him with so many lies any normal thinking person probably would have left the party.
He didn’t, he kept going and for the past 10 years has been branded as being a “Maverick” and someone who sticks up for what he believes in. Those days have passed it seems as all we hear now from McCain are exactly those points the GOP has determined are essential to their core voters. I guess you can’t blame anyone for wanting to become president, but do you have to sell off on just about everything you used to stand for in order to get there?
Whether it’s Joe Lieberman who to me is one the biggest political whores as I’ve written here, and here or now John McCain you do have to wonder how stupid they think the American people are. Oh why did I write that sentence where we all know that a lot of the American people are very uneducated when it comes to anything not related to a TV show or a car. For those people that are paying attention it’s almost amazing at how little regard politicians show for “memory” and the fact that some people do have one and actually use it. What gets me the most is that the media just regurgitates everything as handed down from the ‘wire’. I wish I could get at that wire one day and put in some headlines that get people thinking. How about something like “McCain redefines flip flopping and turns around on every single issue he’s ever stood for”. Or here’s another great headline you’ll never see from AP: “GOP determined to continue with their campaign of pillaging and raping the American Constitution and every freedom mentioned there in”.
