I’m not sure if most people just willing tune out their brain when commercials are on, or whether TiVo has taken care of the fact that nobody actually watches them. How else can you explain commercials like the one from Asmanex. A company that has an ad on TV currently that basically goes like this: woman has asthma, complains about the frequency she has to use her medication and then joyfully explains to the viewer the solution to taking less medication per month, is to actually take more. How that works out logically I’m not quite sure but let me also add this: I’ve had asthma all my life and if it any point in time the amount of medication I had to take boiled down to me taking something once a week or once a month for that matter, I would have had a disease free child hood. In other words it’s nothing.
So now they’re suggesting that the huge burden of taking this medication in such small frequency can actually be relieved by taking a different medicine more frequently. You do the math. To me it sounds like utter retardation and if I think about it any longer I’m going to have to take a nap.
