A New Level Of Stupidity

I‘ve been in this country for about 10 years now and I have to say I didn’t think it was possible to see a further decline in the level of discourse this country is pretending to be having. Where 8 years of George Bush and his cronies didn’t seem to get people roweled up enough, where over 3,000 soldiers dying didn’t really get people on the street, now all of a sudden people are taking to the town halls. It’s just amazing. What gets me the most is how certain entities on the right such as Fox News, Glenn Beck and others are absolutely cashing in on creating this false popular movement against President Obama. To me it seems to apparently obvious that all this reaction isn’t really against health care reform or anything else our current President is trying to get through, it’s all about the fact that they’re pissed off we have a black president.

Most people that you would ask will of course never admit to such a thing, but I feel that the people that are driving this false movement know precisely that there is a certain group of people in the American populous that simply aren’t happy and didn’t get their voice(s) heard by the outcome of the election. At the helm of this so called popular uprising is the fool Glenn Beck. How anyone can watch this guy and not see through his phoniness is completely and utterly beyond me. The level of blatant hypocrisy we’re currently experiencing to me is simply unparalleled. When people complained about the Iraq war and demonstrated, Fox News made sure to label these people as leftist lunatics and anarchists, O’Reilly pretty much admits to this in this video. How people like O’Reilly can even sleep at night boggles my mind when you consider how much of his existence is a completely paradox.

When the left complain they are loons, when the right complain they are patriots. The big difference here is the group of people that are explaining. When people complained about the Iraq War, when Cindy Shehan setup camp in Texas to confront former President Bush, these intentions were based on educated evaluations of the facts – not fear mongering. What we’re seeing right now in form of these town hall uprising is the worst of what this country has to offer. People that are simply being fooled into rising against something that isn’t a threat to them. It would be one thing if these protesters at least had some kind of basis but when I hear people comparing Obama to Hitler, I just have to laugh at those pathetic arguments.

On the other hand, however pathetic these arguments are, the Neo Nazis were pushing completely ridiculous arguments as well and many people didn’t take them serious in the beginning either. What people like Glenn Beck, Hannity and others are simply doing is organizing the dumbest, most gullible people of this country and they’re trying to galvanize them into something they can exploit. After all what the people that are being put to this aren’t realizing is that the drivers of this “movement” all have health insurance or enough to pay for treatment in cash, they don’t have any financial worries whatsoever – they’re millionaires and are just using you as a schmuck to help bring themselves into the spotlight,

  • Same here - I think the right wing lunatic have gone so over board and the scary part is always how many numbwits listen to their garbage. The frustrating thing is that these people are taking up the air time - not the real issues. At the end of the day Limbaugh has no political power and never really has. It's been proven that that none of his calls to actions had any effect during the last primaries yet just the fact that people have to keep hearing about this trash takes away from the time they could be hearing about real issues that actually effect us.

I get a chill up my spine when I hear Republicans Boehner and fake McCain and Limbaugh twist things Pres Obama says just enough, so that they get away with their racist comments...I am scared of the Republican party and what it stands for and all the right wing groups and how they bash our leader...He got elected -legally for pete's sake...If anything happens to my President I would probably go live in a foreign company, somewhere that Heads of State are respected....SB
