I have to admit that the first time I watched one of Keith Olbermann’s “Special Comments” I was very impressed. The reason for this was the fact that at a time where nobody else in the media seemed to say anything out of the norm, Keith Olbermann was delivering commentary that I still think is quite harsh. In a world made up of idiots such as Hannity and Limbaugh, in a media landscape where news corporations hire crooks such as Oliver North as actual contributors to their network it’s refreshing to see at least somebody saying the things no other news anchor dares to say.
There are some Special comments Olberman did that I was truly amazed to see on American TV, considering the blandness of all the other networks. However it’s getting to the point where I’m starting to question Olbermann, mainly the delivery. Let’s not forget that one of the main things that separates Keith Olbermann from shows such as the ones you can see on Fox News, are fact based. Of course the segment dedicated to the “worst persons in the world” is purely made up of items of his chosing.
I guess I’m just at the point where I don’t want a whole lot of monkey show going on, and I’d rather have bare facts speak for themselves without there being a need for any goofy impersonation voices or whatever you want to call that which Olbermann does when he reads quotes from other people in the media. I’m by all means not telling him what to do, but I know what people consider credible and the more personal his tirades get, the more I’m turned off. I find it way below par when he keeps going into the attacks of O’Reilly and others. I think that the best way to fight of such attack is by just ignoring them not by sinking to their level.
