It’s Getting Ugly Out There, McCain Feeds The Blood Hounds

by Arno on October 15, 2008

As far as I’m concerned McCain can pack his bags and go home and finally retire. Nothing coming out of his campaign shines a good light on him and the incidents during recent campaign events are showing that Steve Schmidt and others who are running his campaign simply have nothing left in their toolbox of dirty tricks.

As you can see (I mean hear) in the clip, someone answers to McCain’s statements with a badly audible “Kill Him” and I personally heard another clip where he was called an Arab, and a Terrorist.

First of all I believe that those ignorant racists that live in our society are in a minority, but it’s still discouraging to see the Republican candidate not actively revoking such rhetoric. The bottom line is that the Republican party, not just the American economy is broke. They have been stripped of their ideals, and are basically running for the hills. No matter how hard the surrogates try, most people watching and listening know that they are trying to spin themselves out of a disaster we all know they caused.

After 30 years of Reagan-o-mics, the country’s infrastructure is failing and one can only hope that Naomi Klein is wrong with many of her assertions that we are in a system she calls “Disaster Capitalism”. Just like 9/11 was a disaster that called for drastic actions such as the Patriot Act, the current financial crisis calls for immediate actions, and if history’s any judge of “drastic actions” they usually never are in favor of the people. While we can bail out the financial sector, it’s somehow not possible to bail out the American people. While we can blow billions of dollars on a senseless war in Iraq, we can’t bail out an education system which as it is, can barely keep up with the world.

So, we’ll just keep watching to see how things unfold, we’ll keep pretending our voting system isn’t flawed, I’ll keep my hope up that we don’t see any kind of October surprise, and if McCain & Falin keep it up, I think they’re on their best way of ruining their own campaigns. We can already see that many of the allegations towards Obama have proven so baseless, with so little resonance, that many of the attacks have started to make look McCain bad, rather than doing the opposite.
