I’m currently so filled with anger at what’s going on that I often don’t even write because I feel that the people that do read this page are already on the “right” side of things, excuse the pun. I’m just going to pretend that you don’t know about the fact that the main Telecommunications companies in the US, mainly AT&T haven taken our data and handed it over to the government. One of the only companies who resisted this was Qwest Communications, who’s CEO surprisingly got accused of insider training and where there is no apparent proof for this theory, many believe that this was some type of retaliation of the government.

AT&T: How Corporations Are Selling Out The American People

Now Do You Believe It Was For Oil?
I honestly don’t even know how a lot of these conservative “pundits” can still have the nerve to get on TV and deliver the kind of lies that we’re seeing. In the 1950’s we overthrew Iran. Why did we overthrow them? Because they wanted to Nationalize their own oil resources. They had become frustrated with the fact that BP was in their country and making all the money. They proceeded to do what any free thinking capitalist would have done which is to aim for their own fair share of the profits. The result of that was that BP “called” up the US and complained how they were losing control. Being the innovators that we Americans are, we went into Iran and said NO PROBLEM - we’ll take care of that for you, because ultimately the UK and US have the same stance on many territorial questions, after all the UK of all countries, has some of the best historical examples to fall back on to that show how qualified they are in making countries slaves of the ‘mothership’.
It’s 2008 and we’re being told Iran is a threat again. How did they become that threat? BECAUSE WE RUINED THEIR REVOLUTION! Instead of making them true allies, we let the Corporations do the thinking on this and we took away their democracy thereby making them enemies of the United States. Iran actually used to be pro Western and as I’ve said in other posts on my blog here, here, we are not only ruining relationships with other countries, we are making them enemies. For me the security question alone flies in the face of everything Conservatives say these days.
Of course we’re playing a game here, which is to pretend that all the BS we’re being fed somehow has validity. We’re actually supposed to believe that the Western Oil companies they are now letting into Iraq are going to simply help their production. Of course they’re going to get a huge shim in the door so when things are running well again, they are right there to take over the next contracts. Remember this -the main reason why we wanted Saddam out of office has nothing to do with human rights abuses. I mean let’s get serious here for one second - we commit human rights abuses right in front of our door step, in Guantanamo Bay so I believe that we could care less about human rights. If we’re so worried about human beings being abused, why didn’t and aren’t we acting in Darfur? In case you really don’t know the answer to that question, it’s again very simple: they don’t have any resources we need. If Darfur had oil you would be reading about it in the news daily.
So after over 50 years of constantly poking into the bees nest I call the Middle East, once again they are feeding us propaganda about Oil companies in Iraq. Condie says that the US government has no involvement in this whatsoever - and Bob Marley never bought a sack of weed, give me a break. Further more she also said that our government also had nothing to do with the whole “no bidding” part. So let me get this straight: Iraq is demolished, their national treasures have been looted, they have over 165,000 occupiers in their country, they can’t guarantee for power but now because of their good business sense they decided to bring in Western Oil companies, without any bids? I don’t know about you, but nothing says “sponsored by the corporate United States” any more clear than a no-bid contract.

Obama Delivers His First KO By Telling Off Lobbyists
I must admit I’m very surprised of the move Barack made yesterday. He announced that the Democratic National Committee was no longer accepting lobbyists money.
I personally think that’s one of the biggest pieces of news I’ve heard in a long time considering that Washington is run by lobbyists. It will be interesting to see how far he can go with the change he wants to implement. One must not forget that Lobbies aren’t a Republican or Democratic thing - they’re a Washington thing and and everyone in D.C. is getting money from someone as can be seen here.
The fact that Obama was successful in running a campaign that was largely funded by very small donations does give some hope though. I’ve always said that it doesn’t really matter who gets elected, due to the heavily financed campaign process and of course ultimately the influence of Lobbyists in Washington. Obama was able to get as far as he got without big corporate donations and I think it sets a good signal for going forward.
Historically I think it’s very interesting to note though, that the Kennedy’s were assassinated for their drastic goals. In Robert F. Kennedy’s final commentary before being killed, he spoke of under privileged Blacks and Mexicans and considering that was 40 years ago, it can definitely be called visionary. Yesterday Obama announced his stance on Lobbies and let’s not forget how this country works. A great book to read in regards to what crooks run this country is “Confessions of an Economic Hitman”. It’s a book written by a former member of the economic elite of this country and he describes in detail how many of the things we do as a country, are solely driven by economic interests. The War In Iraq, which technically is an Occupation and not a war was sold to us as “bringing Democracy to Iraq” though Iraq never asked for Democracy. The Marines that entered the country really only had one mission - secure the Oil fields. It’s the large corporations and ultimately the military industrial complex who are going to be very upset what Obama said. I just hope this country doesn’t get its opportunity to change ripped away from it, again.

Don’t Believe The Hype
We’re at war and if the wimps that call themselves democrats want to keep us from getting into a war with Iran they better grow some balls quickly. I’m reading more and more articles on the internet from various credible sources such as Scott Ritter that the situation is dire. Just yesterday I read an article on alternet.org about Daniel Ellsberg who was instrumental in the release of the pentagon papers. There was actually a movie about this in 2003 with the same title. The movie shows how Ellsberg was at first a staunch supporter of the war but when it became clear to him that many of the facts about the Vietnam War were being kept from the American public, he leaked the pentagon papers to the press and it was made public what a mess this war really was.

Michael Savage Finally Feels The Heat
Many times I have wondered, how someone as extreme and hate-speech driven as Michael Savage can sustain a radio show. I guess it’s the same reason people like Rush Limbaugh stay on the air. I’m extremely happy about Robert Greenwald’s action to start contacting sponsors of Savage’s radio show and to ask them to pull their ads due to the offensive nature of the show.

Why Corporations Are The Downfall Of This Country
First off let me say that I work for a corporation. Without this job, I wouldn’t be able to afford health benefits, I probably wouldn’t get any paid time off, paid legal holidays and so on. Corporations do have their benefits, and they lay largely in the area of the actual benefit packages they offer. Besides that, corporations are an evil of our society that shows it’s negative effects all the time.
According to wikipedia a corporation is a legal entity (technically, a juristic person) which has a separate legal personality from its members. One of the most important documentaries available today is called ‘The Corporation’ - and is something every person should take a look at. Here’s the trailer from youtube:

It is from this documentary that I’ve learned why corporations can be such evil elements in our society. Let’s take the case of the Exxon Valdez Disaster. This case has gone to court, the judges have ruled and now for over 10 years this case is stuck in the appeals courts. In the meanwhile, the environmental damages done to the local area are detrimental. The reason the case is being dragged out like this is of course because Exxon has a substantial budget as you can tell here by the earnings from 2006. If this was any regular person or at least not a multi national corporation this case would have been closed years ago.
The underlying concept of any corporation is to make money and to do whatever it can notto pay fines like the one for Alaska. Problem being here that a corporation has no regard for the environment as this is not part of the corporation. As a matter of fact a corporation can almost be looked at like a robot that doesn’t need any of the resources human beings need, like water, earth, fire, sun, wind, etc. I think it’s time corporations took into account that they exist in environments inhabited by human beings and that corporations also have bigger chancer of long lasting profitability if they take this into account.
