WWII Took Five Years So Why Are We Still In Iraq?

Let’s give it up for Keith Olberman who is tirelessly pointing out what really should be very obvious - We’re not winning and we’re ruining our Country economically with this war. World War II was over in 6 years and our involvement was even less than that. The invasion of Normandy which can be considered one of the large battles in modern times, was a logistical nightmare and cost thousands upon thousands of soldiers their lives.

There is one different between the soldiers back then and today and that’s the enemy. Our soldiers in Iraq have no idea how the enemy is and they were never really told - nor do their superiors really know who the targets are. John McCain said today that Iran was training Al Quaeda members and sending them to Iraq. This isn’t true and to me it gives a nice impression of what you can expect from him when he out of some crazy reason becomes president.

Having established the fact that there’s no enemy in Iraq it does become rather hard to justify the whole operation. Having stood by while national treasures of Iraq were looted and the country has been put into a worse state than it was before, many American seems to not grasp the situation. Maybe now that the economy is going down hill some people will start to wake up. I mean let’s face people don’t give a damn about morale. It’s when it starts eating into their bank accounts that people start paying attention. I feel sorry (not really) for all those big mouths that were for the war, that drive the huge gas guzzling vehicles and that were so convinced this war would bring gas prices down for US consumers. Instead, we have an army that may not be broken, according to Fox News, however it’s very apparent that the troops are stretched to their absolute limits, aren’t equipped properly and the main thing here is - we have no troops at home! I know this is absolutely made up and bears no connection to reality but how is it, that the people that are supposedly trying to keep us safe, keep making is unsafer? Does anyone real still believe the bullshit of Terrorists?

Fives Years of War, Costs Sky Rocketing, large Bush/Cheney supported corporations are raking it in, while the common man in the US is starting to feel the pinch. Welcome to the United State of America - where everyone’s told to be a Patriot, but the decisions makers in this country currently, are the biggest traitors this country has ever seen.
